Useful tool for law study

Hornbooks are valuable assets to law students. The usual practice at Law School is to use a Casebook, which contains summations of major cases. The student then "briefs" that case by summing up the major points of law used to determine the ruling in that particular case. Of course, that presupposes that the student knows what the principle points of law are in that case. And Law Schools DO NOT teach that: it is up to the student to acquire the neccessary understanding.

That is where the Hornbook comes in. Unlike the Case Books, the Hornbooks EXPLAIN the law. By studying the Hornbook first, one has a better chance of understanding the law as it is applied in real life.

Born in Bosnia in the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Aleksandar Duric overcame a difficult childhood to become a junior canoeing champion. The learning approach also provides tools to assess the importance of new models with expectational indeterminacy, in which expectations are an independent cause of macroeconomic fluctuations. Moreover, learning dynamics provide a theory for the evolution of expectations and selection between alternative equilibria, with implications for business cycles, asset price volatility, and policy. This book provides an authoritative treatment of this emerging field, developing the analytical techniques in detail and using them to synthesize and extend existing research.

Extremely useful

A fantastic book that summarizes and advances the state of knowledge in learning in macroeconomics. The bulk of the treatment is on adaptive learning theory, but E&H also cover other approaches such as eductive learning. Learning is presented in the context of a good variety of macro models. I disagree with another reviewer who perceived a dearth of useful examples; the vast majority of the book is useful examples! As to the technical level, it is intended for researchers in this area or those who wish to become such, in other words, economists and economics PhD students. (Non-economists with a casual interest in this topic probably should start with more basic material.) Every macroeconomist whose research interests include economic agents’ belief formation would benefit from owning this very useful book.

vey good book for learning as a starting stage

Very good book to start learning about "learning". However, the mathematical language is not convenient especially the mathematical appendix it is very hard to understand. Not many useful examples and applications. Concentrates too much on recursive and constant gain learning and does not examine other learning algorithms.

Her book is very good. She's honest. As a sexually abused child, it's taken me many years to read these types of books. I have downloaded several memoirs and this is one of the first I've read. It saddens me to find so many of us who are coming back later in life to tell the same story over and over and over again. I wish I had placed my trust in God sooner, as the author did. I also wish I was as strong as her to go out into the world and help people. I admire you so. Thank you for writing this book and being there for me.

Much Needed Hope During a Desperate Time

HUSH was such a blessing to me. Nicole's story is similar to my daughter's story and her book gives an actual plan for healing from sexual abuse. It is a must read for anyone affected. It goes into detail about how victim's see themselves, the lies they believe -- and then gives a plan to overcome it. I read it in 2 days because I couldn't put it down. There is hope for a life filled with happiness and fulfillment and Nicole shows you how to attain it. Five stars from me.

Great book on Healing through one's Faith

I picked up this book a couple of years ago at a retreat I was at and absolutely couldn't put it down. Nicole tells how she turned to her faith in God and let him help heal her and get her through the abuse she had suffered. I have purchased several more copies of this book since then and given them to friends of mine. I credit Nicole and her Faith for helping me get through the abuse that I too had suffered. I would recommend anyone wanting a faith based book on healing to get this one. You won't be disappointed!!
